Sometimes it pays to be different. We present to you Maryland-based hip hop artist Ike Da Kid. At 22, he is hard at work establishing himself in the DMV (Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia) area and his impressive lyricism, honest emotion and smooth melodies are contributing factors to his well received artistry – so well received that he was drafted as an opening act for International dance hall sensation Serani in April of 2010 at UMD. He has since performed at schools like Towson University, George Mason university, Howard University and St. Johns University.

His first Mixtape “Coming To America” dropped November 30th 2010 and has been creating a buzz in the DMV area since. The Mixtape’s First single ‘The Way You Are” has already been featured on major blogs and major Washington D.C Radio stations like WKYS 93.9 FM. The Mixtape tells the Story of Ike Da Kid who left Nigeria to come to the United States to find his dreams. Ike Da Kid is hard at work to ensure that he becomes one of the leaders of the new school of hip-hop.

Ike Da Kid who is about to graduate from the University of Maryland in May, is working on the follow-up to his debut Mixtape as well as short EP projects with his group A.M.N (Any Means Neccessary). Expect great music from this Versatile artist in the future.
